- 1/2 cup oil
- 4 carrots
- 1 clove garlic
- 2 tsp sugar
- 3 lbs chicken for frying
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup plum sauce
- 1/3 cup chinese pickles
- 5 diced celery stalks
- 1/4 cup water
- 4 slice ginger
- 2 tsp cornstarch mixed with ¼ cup water
- 3 tbsp sherry
To make chicken in plum sauce we will firstly cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces. After, we will peel the carrots and cut into cubes.
Secondly, we will crush the garlic.
Cooking chicken in plum sauce
Place the oil and garlic in a skillet. Brown the chicken, stir for 5 minutes, cover, reduce heat and simmer for around 10 minutes.
Now we’ll add the plum sauce celery, ginger, sherry, carrots, sugar salt, pickles and water. Simmer covered for some 12 minutes or so. Lastly, add the cornstarch and water mixture to thicken up the gravy.
Finally, our delicious chicken in plum sauce is ready to serve to our hungry guests!
